These video clips are from a lesson using Teddy bear and may help you prepare to use the resource. The clips are intended to give an indication of how students responded to the Teddy bear task and the type of mathematical thinking that helped them to tackle the problem.
This clip gives an overview of the resource and some student and teacher reflections on the process of tackling the Teddy bear problem. In particular, they discuss the process of getting started on the problem, how they coped with getting stuck and what mathematics they used to help them solve the problem.
This clip shows two particular episodes of students working on the problem. The first episode shows a group of students working through some initial confusions. The second episode shows some approaches that students tried help them to complete the task.
We are grateful to Julian Marshall for directing the filming, selecting and editing some video clips and for his guidance on the use of classroom video.
